Once again we present a selection of culturally diverse screenings in collaboration with National Schools Film Week, an educational event that places film at the heart of the school curriculum, generating a greater awareness of the value of studying film.

Bride and Prejudice
Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice gets a Bollywood treatment. Elizabeth Bennet is transformed into Lalita Bashiki (Bollywood superstar Aishwarya Rai,) the eldest of a lovely four daughters. Though her parents are eager to arrange a match with a desirable neighbour, Lalita is looking for love and believes that she has found it when she meets American hotelier Will Darcy.
Saving Private Ryan
Following the Allied invasion of Normandy, two brothers lay dead in the wake of the onslaught. Meanwhile, in New Guinea, a third brother has been killed fighting the Japanese. After the Army General Staff learns that a fourth brother is missing in the French countryside, a rescue mission is ordered to find the young soldier and return him safely home.
Land and Freedom
Land and Freedom opens in present-day England, with a young woman (Mandy Walsh) reading the diaries and letters of her late grandfather David, who was part of the multi-national Republican Militia fighting against Franco.
